Hung like a horse

Who needs a long, innane description of the political parties, when cartoons do it so much better?Last night, when I toddled off to bed after realising that I was so tired I couldn’t understand what people were saying on the tv, I honestly thought that any idea of a hung parliament was next to nil. After all (I considered as I brushed my teeth), the press had been going on about it for so long, and so much had happened in the past few weeks, surely someone would win? I suspected Cameron, even if I didn’t like him, would win albeit with a small majority.

"He's as nervous as a small nun at a penguin shoot"However, I would not be the fine specimen of a human being that I am if I didn’t say ‘oops’ now and again. I’ve always enjoyed the sport of watching men fight with their minds! , but the entire situation intrigues me. I’m part of the generation that thinks of Life on Mars before the 3 day week , and so I am watching 24 hour news footage of bugger all happening, as I am genuinely intrigued as to what happens next. However, my mind now hurts like a horrible study session, because of the constant repetition of what is happening on fivelive.

For the first time I can remember in British politics, something entirely unexpected could happen.

I can’t quite be bothered to explain what a hung parliament is, partly as the BBC explains it so much better and uses fancier graphs. However, I hope Cameron doesn’t get in, a coalition is formed, no-one brings in random power cuts, and everyone stops talking about unemployment for a couple of hours or so. That would make a nice change.

Stumpy meets World

Well, someone has to be chuffed, and that person has to be me!

As I have mentioned a couple of times on this blog, I am a keen knitter who recently branched out in crochet. For your enjoyment and puzzlement, I present a selection of images of stuff I have knitted. The only stuff I haven’t properly included in this entry are very late christmas presents. However, they are not as late as the 3rd Christmas present, which lies under my bed and the yarn isn’t even unwrapped from the sheet of paper around it.

Firstly, for your pleasure, meet Stumpy II. It is the cousin of Stumpy I, who is the plastic apatosaurus that I bought from the Field Museum in Chicago. Next, we have Shaun the Sheep. I am currently completing Timmy (I have been doing for over a year, it must be said), and finally, I bring you the ducks that I made for my friend Maddy. I now have at least two more ducks to complete soon.

Oh, and this is me.

Me, myself, moi.

I think I should put my picture to a blog now.
